Brilliant start to a series

In Transylvania in 32 B.C, Tahlia Oliveira was turned into a vampire. Tahlia is destined to become the Vampire Queen, one of the most feared and dangerous royal vampires to ever exist. Prior to her re-birth as a vampire, Tahlia had fallen deeply in love with Aurora, the daughter of the head of Caesar's bodyguards. It broke both Tahlia's and Aurora's hearts when Tahlia had to leave Rome to go to Transylvania. It was unavoidable though, her mother wanted the best for Tahlia and she needed the money that she would receive for handing over Tahlia to Lecrac, supposedly to further her education.

Tahlia and Aurora had formed an unbreakable bond between them that would last throughout the centuries that followed. As each century passed by, Tahlia's only reason for her existence in the vampire world was for her lover to be re-born, reincarnated.

Tahlia loves her mortal partner from each re-birth until her mortal death. The cycle is endless. The times in between her lovers reincarnation are torture for Tahlia.

Then the day comes when her lovers re-birth clashes with an enemy set on destroying the vampire hierarchy, an enemy of old, an enemy known to Tahlia. The threat will not be against Tahlia directly. Indirectly though, the threat will jeopardize Tahlia's un-dead existence, therefore upsetting the Royal Clan Vampires forever. Will Tahlia be able to outwit and destroy the enemy?

This is the first book in a new vampire series, it is also Stein Willard's debut book. The book is wonderfully well written, the story is tense and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough at first. I had to stop myself, to slow down and savor the story. It is much too good to rush through.

The characters are well formed, each plays a crucial part into the progression of the story. The settings are described so that they leave nothing to the imagination. I was there, living this story alongside of the vampires and mortals. The sights, sounds and smells all came alive. I was totally in tune with this story, nothing else around me mattered except for finishing this book.

As well as learning all about the vampire clan over the centuries, we learn of the emotions of a love that transcends all time and lasts through the centuries to the present day.

The heat of Tahlia's and her mortal lover's love just belts off the page throughout the book, no matter what century we are reading about. To say the romance is hot, would be an understatement, it's sizzling.

Stein has seamlessly woven the story of the past and the present into a gripping book that I simply could not put down.

I'm really looking forward to seeing which direction the next book in the series will take. I've read many vampire books, this is one of the best I've read in a long while. I hope Stein is not going to keep us waiting for the next book in this series.

A solid and interesting vampire story

This is a solid and interesting vampire story which spans about 2000 years. The take on vampires is different and well-developed and has a new take on this theme! Well done. And four stars for that.

Two points which I didn't like about the e-book. For one there were way too many typos or words still standing from editing. Second: I am all for sex and hot scenes, but when transferring a fanfiction serial story into an ebook it would be helpful to see how this fits the new format, sigh.

I admire anyone who has the ability to write a coherent story and has the courage to publish. But sometimes I wish they wouldn't

This is one of very few books i've come across at Amazon that read as if they had never been edited at all. It's as if someone had decided to publish their first rough draft. There are multiple words missing or completely misspelt - in a single sentence! So much so, that sometimes it is impossible to figure out the meaning behind the butchered sentence. It was beyond frustrating.
And still, I might have struggled through it if the writing had not been so over the top with cliche after cliche, melodramatic and predictable.
I did not manage to finish it - it seemed like utter waste of my precious reading time.
I admire anyone who has the ability to write a coherent story and has the courage to publish. But sometimes I wish they wouldn't bother...

This book kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through. You just have to love luke and Hannah for the effort they put in and there characters. Great book

Danger times two

Whoa. This book kept you guessing the whole way and had me at the edge of my seat. It was hard to see them struggle so much at first but I understood it all too. Hannah had changed in the aftermath of what she went through and losing Luke. She became a stronger more determined version of herself but also not quite whole. Luke was a man on a mission, a mission that was taking too long for his taste. Fate is a funny thing. You don't see it coming but when she hits you upside the head like a freight train, you have no choice but to listen. With two sets of enemies waging war on this duo it was bound to get ugly. This was an explosive third and final chapter for Luke and Hannah and though the road was a mine field of danger and pain, nothing tastes as bittersweet as the ending of a true love thrill ride. I will hold these characters close and look forward to Mia's story to unfold.

Wonderful Grandpa Story

I first saw and heard this book read when my husband and I went to Grandparents' Day at our granddaughter's school. The teacher read it to the children and grandparents who were visiting. I loved the story, so I found a used copy on Amazon and ordered it. I recently read it to my granddaughter again and we both giggled and enjoyed it. It's a great book for kids and grandparents alike.

I really liked this book a lot

I really liked this book a lot, aside the fact it is very short, about 36 pages in total. Also I noticed there was no pictures or diagrams to help illustrate or substantiate the author's point of view. With that being said, I felt as if the author went above and beyond explaining the very complex yet at times simplex views of an enlightened writer revealing and shedding a light on Soulmates and Twin Flames. The author did a great job explaining the differences and some of the similar characteristics of the two. The author was very clear in providing the steps necessary to meet your soulmate or twin flame, how to recognize the loved one, and just as important how to connect. So many people need this book, I needed this book, to aid me in connecting with this soul. There is a calmness in the writing, a confidence that is undeniable. I wish it would have been longer and had some pictures, but I am really happy I got it. This is one of those books, you will not soon forgot. I am so very happy I got it, it answers so many questions I have, and puts a light to illuminate the path I am currently on. Thank you S.J. Morgan!!!

It is very easy to follow, author stays on point throughout which kept my focus on topic. I have found soul mates of different levels, this book covers that in great detail, the different levels. Now I am looking forward to advancing those levels with some of my soul mates, all thanks to this book for helping understand how and why we have soul mates on different levels. Bastante esclarecedor acerca de muchos pasajes oscuros de nuestra historia. Me cambió la percepción de varias cosas, y me hizo darme cuenta de la brutalidad con que algunos grupos de nuestra sociedad han sido pisoteados desde la llegada misma de los invasores españoles. Impresionante la opacidad con que se les está instruyendo a nuestros niños. Quizá lo único que algunos encuentren criticable es la clara aversión que tiene el autor hacia la iglesia católica - misma que, en lo personal, no puedo si no compartir. Es de notar el contraste entre lo que a nuestros padres les enseñaron (en las escuelas católicas) acerca de la figura de Benito Juárez, con lo que se lee en esta y otras obras.

Francisco Martín Moreno hace, de una manera amena, un recuento de nuestra historia. Muchos de los hechos son ampliamente conocidos, otros no tanto; pero todos ellos importantes. Es vergonzoso (¿Criminal?) que se hayan excluido de los libros de texto gratuitos. Nos hace preguntarnos si esa exclusión fue por ignorancia o por mala fe (muy probablemente inducída por el clero). Algo tenemos que hacer si realmente queremos que nuestros niños aprendan la historia de Mexico.

Must Read!!

Kara McKormick wants to be a star! She's a seventeen-year-old girl who is known for being a contestant on "The Book of Love" which you can read about in Krista's first novel, "First Date". In this novel, Kara tries out for a variety show, "Teens Rock". Unbeknownst to the ten girls who are competing against each other, they must impress their housemother, Flora. When "America's Next Star", Chad Beacon, decides to take on acting, his parents demand his co-star be a Christian, Flora, their assistant, poses as the girls' housemother. This was such an amazing book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! There was more to this novel than the average "follow your dreams"; the story had a clear, Christian message, and I loved that Krista wasn't afraid to express Christianity in this novel. I also loved the relationships in this novel: Kara & Addy, Kara & Chad, Chad & Jonathon, and Addy & Jonathon). Despite the fact that this novel was loosely based on the story of Issac and Rebekah in Genesis 24, it wasn't overly relegious; it was still fun, enjoyable, and showcased struggles without jamming one's beliefs down your throat. I love reading a good Christian book every once in awhile, because it relaxes, strengthens, and grounds me; it's a reminder of my faith. I think everyone should read this novel, even if you're not a believer; it puts things in perspective for you!

In the World Starring Me?

My most recent selection from Book Sneeze is Starring Me, a fictional young adult novel written by Krista McKee. This book is the follow up to First Date, although each is its own unique story. The characters cross over, but Starring Me is its own story.

Kara is a young, hopeful, wanna be actress who is selected to be one of 10 girls to "audition" for a variety show. The exact details of the show, including the costar, are kept secret from the girls trying out.

The exact details revolve around Chad - the latest winner of an American Idol type show who, after only a year, is already tired of the teen heartthrob lifestyle. When he and his parents are pitched the idea for a variety show, they set some ground rules of their own. Chad's parents insist their son's costar must be a Christian, desiring the girl to be uplifting to his spiritual walk.

For me, the book was only meh. The story line didn't contain twists, turns, or anything surprising/exciting. It was a quick read, and I enjoyed the author's writing style. I think its unfair of me to expect a novel for teens
to be as complex as others I read, but I found the predictability a bit tired.

This book could be a great spring board, however, for the "in the world but not of the world discussion." Should we surround ourselves with Christians lest we be tempted to stray? I don't agree with the position taken by the parents (and presumably the author) but is certainly a topic worth talking about.

Must Read!

Thank you to Thomas Nelson for sending me this e-galley through their Book Sneeze program. Starring Me is a fun, refreshing read about a girl as feisty as her red hair, a cute boy and the chance of a lifetime. This story is loosely based on the biblical story of Issac and Rebekah and is a companion novel to McGee's debut, First Date, (where we first meet Kara).

Kara McCormick was born to perform and while she didn't win the boy on The Book of Love, she came away with an even better prize in her new best friend Addy. The girls have a lot in common but the one thing they don't share is Addy's belief in God. Kara doesn't see the need for Him in her life even though she's seen Him work in Addy's. All that changes when Kara gets the chance to audition for a new teen sketch comedy show, convinced it's her ticket to making her dreams come true. When things don't go as smoothly as she expected, she'll discover that God works in our lives whether we acknowledge Him or not. Kara also gets a lesson about what's really important and the meaning of real love - the kind that's all consuming and never ending.

I thoroughly enjoyed Kara! She's straightforward, selfless and laugh-out-loud funny. She shows integrity and an openness to what Addy and several others have to say. There's a sweetness to the friendship she develops with Chad and parents of younger readers have nothing to worry about. The idea of courtship; not dating until you're serious about finding a lifelong partner is addressed with Kara and Addy discussing the pros and cons of bouncing from one relationship to the next.

Krista McGee is one of the few Christian authors I've found who is able to share a message of love, forgiveness and grace without sounding preachy or cheesy. McGee's characters are believable and relateable. I'm a Christian and I don't enjoy reading stories where everything is over the top or with characters who are too "perfect".

Arrived on time, but it got stuck in the mail box (which wasn't Amazon`s fault) which made it a late Christmas gift. Wasn't the type of book I thought it was, but my niece still loved it and she's 4!

Wonderful story and illustrations

I purchased this book in Dutch when I was visiting Holland a few weeks ago. I always purchase a childrens' book for a little friend of mine when I travel overseas. Sometimes I'm able to find something in the native language with an English translation. Or, I buy the native language version and get some help with a translation. I spent quite a while looking through the childrens' section in an Amsterdam bookstore and fell in love with the story (which I thought I understood in spite of my lack of understanding of Dutch) and the illustrations. I got some help translating the book and will be curious to see how close my version comes to the published one! The illustrations are wonderful. I think they will appeal to 2-5 year-olds and also to the adults reading to them. There are some wonderful little details in them.

Some times you just have to say it...........

This book is wonderful! The pictures are great and the story is lovely.
My 7 year old refers to Lola as the little girl whose cheeks keep getting biggger until the words just have to come out.
The book only takes about 5 minutes to read but the message will last a life time. It tells children, and parents, how important it is that we tell the people we love, "I love you, I love you, I love you so much!"
This would be a great book for new parents to begin reading to their bundle of joy right from the start.
A favorite in our home and is sure to be one in your home too.

Anxious and waiting

I just finished reading the first installment. Can't wait to read the rest! I am sort of a control freak and so I like reading about someone giving up control, since its such a foreign concept to me. It interests my intellectual side, sort of like a scientist studying a subject. So I'm anxious to read more about her giving up control to her sex therapist. I want to know if they are going to continue their professional relationship and I'm hoping start a personal one. I'm hoping she stands up for herself soon in her personal life and gives Evan the boot up his bum he deserves. He doesn't deserve her. I'm excited to see how this story unfolds.
